    Rumor Yankees Want Fuentes?

    The Denver Post reports that the Yankees are interested in Brian Fuentes.
    The newspaper notes that Fuentes is someone the Yankees "have liked for years" and New York could use a new setup man after moving Joba Chamberlain to the rotation.
    Its not much a substantiated rumor but did arouse my interest. Yankees obviously need a new setup man after Joba goes to the rotation and the Rockies are in last place so this would make sense for both teams. The Rockies could get a very nice piece for Fuentes. I would like to see what happens with this.

    I still have faith in Edwar, but I would definitely be all in favor of this.
    I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

    i wouldn't mind getting another veteran reliever who's better than freakin farnsworth-less or latrash hawkins. fuentes would be a good addition. now....who to give up for him is quite a dilemma

    They've got a bunch of guys who they could offer in their minors...lots of solid pitching prospects.

    The Giants just designated Erik Threets for assignment so that could be something the Yankees pursue. He's left handed, 26 yrs old and is decent. Worth a shot.

    From what I read today, the Yankees would offer LaTroy Hawkins. Not sure why the Rockies would be interested in this terrible excuse for a relief pitcher, but thats one rumor...
