Teixeira To The Braves (Now Official)

I still think the Braves could have put either McCann or Salty at first and saved a shit load of cash to get someone this offseason but I guess the Braves felt they couldn't wait. Braves definitely sent a message to this team with this signing and Dotel's. This move also made it clear at least in my opinion that Andruw isn't going to be around next year. Renteria, Jones, Texeira, McCann, is a damn good heart of a lineup. Schuerholtz has to get a long term deal done and probably will this offseason. The Rangers get a future star in Salty and some great potential in the rest. They still need a starter and wonder if Renteria will still be around.

Buster Olney just reported on ESPN that the Mark Teixeira trade is officially complete and does not involve Kyle Davies. That means Davies will likely be sent to KC fot Dotel.

Now it's officially official.

Along with Teixeira, this deal also fortifies the Braves bullpen with the addition of veteran left-handed reliever Ron Mahay. In exchange, the Rangers get Saltalamacchia, Elvis Andrus, Neftali Feliz, Matt Harrison and Beau Jones.

So Mahay is going to the Braves.

Yep welcome to one if not the worst trades in Atlanta's history. The Braves gave up way too much just for a some what decent bat and a pitcher who I have never heard of before.

My hope for the Braves postseason chances this year has just been flushed down the tiolet. Thanks Schuerholz and his so called scouts. Schuerholz should write another book explaining his thought process into this trade and apologize for his stupidity.
