Lowell is a tremendous 3B. The only one with less errors than him there last year (6) was Chavez with 5. They would be losing ground with Youkilis at 3rd instead of him.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Well the reason that Helton has such a huge contract is because the Rockies spent that much on him. Its not his fault that he was offered so much. Anyways the Sox can afford him and they would be helping the Rockies out. And yes, Helton is going to be productive in the Sox line-up, if the deal goes down. No pressure, just relax and have fun, where in Colorado, he was one of the main threats in the line-up!

Another contract that Colorado spent lots on.

Why not just trade Youk and a prospect for Helton?
That will benefit both teams IMO
Rockies would be getting Youk who is about 5-7 years younger than Lowell I believe(correct me if i'm wrong) and a young prospect.
Boston would get gold glove caliber position in there corner IF, also having Helton and Lowe hit behind Papi and ManRam.

No that would definitely not benefit Boston. Youkilis is going to be a very nice player and you're losing years and a lot of money by dealing him for Helton with not much, if any, of an offensive upgrade.

...but then again I wouldn't complain

This is Helton's # at Fenway. He hasn't been there much to go on. And if you go back to the last 2 healthy seasons of Helton.

This goes right along with his career # of .330/.430/.593 or at least in the area.

Yeah I heard it on ESPNNews. Good for the Rockies. Holliday, Atkins and Hawpe make for a good tandem around Helton. Lowell and Taveraz

Well it was sure fun hashing it out this past weekend about this proposed trade, but I think it was smart for this trade proposal be set aside. Maybe rekindle talks in July, see where both teams are at that point and go from there.
