The Seattle Times reports that the Mariners and Miguel Batista have agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth more than $24 million.
An awful lot of money to spend on durability. The Mariners had as much need for a top-of-the-rotation starter as any team in baseball, but they've so far settled for adding Batista and Horacio Ramirez to a rotation that will also include Felix Hernandez and Jarrod Washburn.
