    Manny In San-Fran?

    Manny In Orange And Black?
    Boston Globe - 11/26 - 6:56 PM EST
According to the Boston Globe, Manny Ramirez could end up wearing orange and black. The Giants and Orioles have both been shut out of the free agent market and could offer a package for the slugger.

Boston is looking for the right package of a reliever, shortstop, and/or prospects.

Manny is about the only guy who could fill Bonds' shoes. Too bad they are both DH material.

Giants Talking To Red Sox About Manny

San Francisco Chronicle - 11/27 - 11:20 AM EST (AP Photo)
Sources on Sunday confirmed that the Giants are among the teams talking seriously to the Red Sox about a trade for Manny Ramirez.

Ramirez is owed $14 million and $16 million, plus a total of $8 million in deferred salary, over the final two seasons of the eight-year, $168 million contract he signed with Boston.
I think this trade will fall threw, just like all the other Manny related trades, but if it does go threw, SF is getting the better end regardless of what they give up.

He also has veto power over any trade.

10 months ago, Ramirez told MLB.com, "I know the American League system. That's one reason I don't want to go to the National League."

Ramirez's agent, Greg Genske, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

I can't see this happening. Manny wants to stay in the AL, we aren't giving up Vizquel and we aren't going to throw all our prospects at them. Niekro, Linden, Sanchez, Hennessey and Sadler would be what I would throw as far as prospects and we would even be kind enough to take Clements contract off the Sox hands as a bonus.

You talked about Giants prospects, which doesn't make any sense to me. Travis Ishikawa ain't looking like no star.

Like I said prospects, not minor leaguers.
