    Mets get Shawn Green!

    Shouldn't they be getting pitching?
A source told MLB.com that the Mets have acquired Shawn Green from the Diamondbacks for a minor leaguer.
Green reportedly has agreed to waive his no-trade clause. The deal still needs the commissioner's approval, probably because the Diamondbacks are including cash to cover a portion of Green's contract. Since Green will take over as the Mets' primary right fielder, it's possible that Lastings Milledge will head to Triple-A and remain there until the end of Norfolk's season. The Diamondbacks will play Carlos Quentin regularly in right, making him a fine pickup in mixed leagues. Aug. 22 - 6:44 pm et

Dont think it will be any top minor leaguer. But yes, I think the Mets need 1 more starter if they want to see World Series.

Jeff Moorad was supposed to be stuck with his $17.5 million ball-and-chain until after 2007, while Carlos Quentin parks his butt on the bench for that time. But Minaya had to ruin everything. **** you, Omar.

I think Omar has done a great job this year.

I'm not at all surprised by that.

The Mets need starting pitching, so they downgrade in RF and take on a shitload of money.

    Great job, Omar.

doesn't everyone need pitching? I am a little confused by the Green trade... Arent Delgado and Green "like" best of friends? Maybe that is why, a change of scenery for Green with his Buddy may give him incentive and his power numbers will go up... Just a thought..

Maybe they feel they need to out slug all of their opponents... This could be their philosophy until Glavine gets healthier..

They also lead the NL East.

Maybe the Braves would have continued their run of winning the division this year if Omar hadn't been GM.

That's pretty harsh saying Michael Tucker is better than Shawn Green. They didn't need this deal and it doesn't better their team but another NY team taking on money brings a smile to my face
