    Ponson's a Yankee

    According to ESPNews, the Yankees have signed Sidney Ponson for the remainder of the season.
    Ponson probably needed to stay in the NL if he was going to have success. As awful as his strikeout rate is right now, there's just not much chance of him keeping his ERA even around 5.00 while facing lineups that are strong top to bottom. The Yankees figure to make him their fifth starter for now, but we'd still take Shawn Chacon over him over the rest of the season.

    *yawn* What's the point? Replacing one horrible starter with another horrible starter. Maybe that signing will help the Redsox if nothing else.

    Alot of the same things were said of Chacon last year and he was a key down the stretch. It's worth a shot.
