Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Cleveland selects LB CJ Mosley, Alabama
The Browns did sign Karlos Dansby this offseason, but could use more depth at the inside linebacker position. Luckily for Cleveland it seems the best inside linebacker in the draft just fell into their laps. He has a high football IQ and a heady player, it helps that he comes from a winning tradition and can be just as good as his teammate Donta Hightower last year.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
New Orleans selects CB Jason Verrett, TCU
I went back and forth on WR as another option here, but corner is clearly the biggest need in NO. Verrett is undersized on paper, but he certainly doesn't play that way on film.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Carolina selects WR Kelvin Benjamin, Florida State
It's no secret the Panthers don't have any receivers. Rivera believes he only has to replace 10 catches a game but it won't happen with his motley crew at receiver. It is too early to take someone as raw as Benjamin but the Panthers are going for size and potential. A big red zone target Benjamin due to his big hands and large catch radius, the Panthers could have done with a more polished Marquis Lee.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
New England selects QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida
I'm not huge on any of the DLs or TE at this spot, and while it won't happen(Bortles certainly won't fall this far), it's a fit. Ryan Mallett is an FA after 2014, and Tom Brady isn't that long from retiring to (be with) his supermodel wife on some beach.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
San Francisco selects DT Stephen Tuitt
The 49ers have an aging DLine and bring in a versatile and athletic end in Tuitt. He has good size and will provide some rush from the edge. The 49ers could use a corner but will have to wait until the next round to address the position with no one really worth taking at this time.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Yeah Bortles would have went to Arizona if I didn't forget about him, sheesh.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Denver selects LB Telvin Smith, Florida State
This is becoming somewhat of a trend in my mocks. Smith isn't protypically sized, but neither was Wesley Woodyard and the Broncos got plenty of years out of him. I don't think he's on the board when they pick in Round 2, so this is the pick, here. Chris Borland was another option, but I think he's a little below Smith as the Broncos fill out their draft board.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Seattle selects OT Morgan Moses, Virginia
Moses has great size but is surprisingly nimble on his feet with good movement. Seattle could use a receiver to replace Golden Tate but the class is so deep they can find someone in the next couple rounds. They need to fix the offensive line, even before Breno Giacomini left this offseason. They could also look to add a tight end to strengthen that position with Austin Seferin-Jenkins of Washington University.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
And thus concludes Round 1. I'll rack up Round 2 if you want to continue after I get done eating.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
I'll go as long as you go.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Alrighty.
Houston selects QB Jimmy Garoppolo, Eastern Illinois
After getting Clowney with #1, it's time to find the franchise QB. I like a couple guys a little bit better than Jimmy G, but the fit is undeniable in Bill O'Brien's system, and that makes him the fit here.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Washington selects OT Cyrus Kouandijo, Alabama
Washington finally gets to make a pick in the draft and look to add their future at right tackle. Tyler Polumbus is in a contract year and Kouandijo offers a sizeable replacement that could be similar to Phil Loadholt in Minnesota. Kouandijo is raw but strong and tough and will deliver a jolt on his blocks. Washington needs an upgrade in size after being pushed around a little too much last season.

Witlon, you're fired as interim GM of OAK

I know you wanted Dri Archer, but it's not happening in Round 1.
Re: Witlon and Schniso Do A Back And Forth Mach Draft
Cleveland selects WR Cody Latimer, Indiana
One of the fastest rising WRs in the draft goes to a great landing spot. After selecting Johnny Manziel to man the QB position, it's time to give him some help. Josh Gordon is entrenched as the #1 WR, and Andrew Hawkins can man the slot nicely, but a #2 WR is a must and Latimer is a great fit. Coming off his foot injury, he could be a legit first round pick.
