Last night is a prime example of why I'm not as interested in pro football as I was when I was younger. There was no reason to watch the game after halftime. The Broncos were terrible. When there's only 1 game on and it sucks, there's no other game to switch to. At least the first game was close and awesome regardless of the outcome.

Brady threw for 666 last night, didn't he? Kinda puts a cast on the Tebow love.

The prime time game left my TV for Wings on Netflix. That's how boring it was. But that first game...damn, what a finish. Surprised we haven't seen the Terrell Owens v. Green Bay catch replayed a thousand times since then.

Still, two satisfying finishes yesterday, even with the late blowout. The Saints getting the boot, and the Tar Heels getting throttled in the College Basketball game. Pretty good day in sports, I'd say.

Geez I guess they weren't using ACC officials and UNC didn't know how to answer actual basketball rather than the hanky panky ACC ball. Wow thats BRUTAL. Talk can already commence about how overrated the ACC is (as always) in college basketball

Ravens gave the Patriots that game. Ridiculous. I hope the 49ers or Giants trample them.

Re: 2011 NFL Season rumblings thread

I thought the Giants would beat the Patriots and they did. Patriots were one of the most undeserving Super Bowl teams I have seen. A few things that have been pissing me off. People keep blaming Brady for the ball Wes Welker dropped. Was it a perfect throw? No. Did it hit him in both hands? Yes! No excuses can be made for Welker. Another thing is the Manningham catch. Am I the only one who didn't find it to be all that special? Sure it helped start that drive but I see that type of catch/play in every game I watch. It was a good throw and catch but everywhere I turn they keep saying words like "legendary" and "one of the best ever". Overall, it was a pretty boring game and wasn't that impressed. The biggest disappointment was the Ferris Bueller commercial!

I personally think that this years Giants is one of the weakest championship football teams I have ever seen.

    regular season

Not that I fully disagree with you. The Giants got hot at the right time.

Well don't completely disregard the regular season. The Giants just aren't that good. Their regular season stats show just that. But you are totally right, they got hot at the right time and were rolling on all cylinders. That and the Packers had their worst game all season (maybe even over the past two seasons).

Re: 2011 NFL Season rumblings thread

Much like they did the last time they won. The packers got hot last season. The Steelers got hot at the end of the season in both of their recent Super Bowl winning years (they won 8 straight after beating the Seahawks, and 9 of their last 10 when they beat Arizona). Giants won their division, and they kept winning. It's not their fault that Philly and Dallas were overrated, again, and they both threw away opportunities.

Re: 2011 NFL Season rumblings thread

I just don't see how the Patriots were undeserving at all. Because the Steelers choked against the Broncos? I think people are just hating on the Pats because they have won too much lately.

And you just had to throw that overrated comment with the Cowboys. I could be very wrong, but I'm pretty sure the only ones that overrated the Cowboys were their own fans.

Re: 2011 NFL Season rumblings thread

The Cowboys are suffering from the same misled fan perception as the Chargers. They were once upon a time heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl by any sports media "expert" you'd find only to choke it away in the playoffs.

While now-a-days the mediots have caught up to this trend and no longer heavily favor them (although you'll still find one or two "experts" who'll still say this is their year) fans still act like everyone in the world but themselves are calling them heavy favorites for the Super Bowl and state how overrated they are.

Then, when the team lives up to the real expectations that pretty much everyone has and doesn't win they'll point to that as proof that they were right that they were "overrated" all the while not understanding what "overrated" means.
