Rockies Rockies could add Ausmus and keep Estes

    http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drm...236994,00.html

BRAD AUSMUS would be an interesting off-season possibility for the Rockies in their attempt to strengthen their catching. An original Rockies expansion draft choice, Ausmus is regarded as one of the premier handlers of pitchers in the game. The expectation is he will return to Houston, but if the Astros don't re-sign pitcher Roger Clemens, that could change, and the Rockies would be among the most active suitors for Ausmus.

Left-hander Shawn Estes doesn't rule out a return to the Rockies, but his first desire is to re-sign in Arizona, where he lives in the off-season.
    ok...

Ausmus can handle any staff, even the Rockies.

That's like saying a big pumpkin is better than a small pumpkin.

At the end of the day, it's still a ****ing pumpkin.

And you have no tangible way of telling me what Brad Ausmus is worth.

    Go sign Tony Womack.

He is a good defensive catcher plain and simple. Go blow Cano.

How many runs does that defense get you?

Yeah because all those catchers are known for their offense. Calling a good game and providing top defense saves you enough runs.

Actually, a good catcher, like a good player, can swing the bat. Think Mike Piazza is going to the Hall of Fame because of his plate-blocking?

Rockies don't need a hitting catcher... The IF and OF are stacked. Plus, a pumpkin is better then no food at all.

Stacked? Now we're just getting delusional.
