After what he did last year on that team, I wouldn't call him overrated. PS HE 23.

after last year.. .huh, the guy was 23 years old, in his 3rd year, and he had an ERA of 2.63 opp BA .243 with a WHIP of 1.13 pitched 7 complete games with 5 shut outs 236 innings and only 11 HR's, he had an off year in 2004, but most guys havea sophomore slump.

tell me the last time that the Reds have had a guy put up comparable numbers let alone to do so at the age of of 23...

    Reds

Here is one I would do with Florida.

    Reds get-
    3B-Miguel Cabrera

    Marlins get-
    SP-Homer Bailey
    3B-Edwin Encarnacion
    OF-BJ Szymanski

Are we overpaying? Probably. However, the thought of Griffey, Cabrera, and Dunn hitting back to back to back would make our offense a terror. It is also more likely we would get Cabrera than Willis anyways.

No way the Marlins will trade Cabrera.

No way I would trade those three for Cabrera. Bailey would not be in the mix at all for any position player IMO. We only trade in for a significant upgrade to the rotation.

    How about Lerew for Kearns?

I like his makeup for sure. I think the Braves would not do this, but I would like it. I love Kearns, but Lerew is supposed to have a nasty changeup and all the necessary attributes to be a good pitcher at the MLB level. Isn't he developing a slider as well?

Anyhow, I would like that trade.

It should be noted that Willis's mechanics are shot to hell right now. See what Dontrelle does in April before coveting your neighbor's possessions.
