    Here's another question for you all though. Aren't called 3rd strikes (K's looking) generally accepted as being worse than swinging strikeouts? If that's the case, than how can strikeouts be just another out?

    They're not really considered worse in terms of how it helps the team, but rather the fact that you shouldn't be looking at a pitch that could even be called the third strike.

    All strikeouts are not the same. Adam Dunn's strikeouts are indicative of his patience. Pena's strikeouts are indicative of his impatience.
