    Griffey to wear no 3 next season

    For the fit he threw trying to get Tony Perez's jersey unretired, maybe I do find some humor in this. Plus im sure the Reds marketing staff may be gleaming.

    Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. will wear a new number next season, the Reds announced Friday.

    In honor of his three children - Trey, Taryn and Tevin - Griffey wil wear No. 3. He previously wore No. 30 for the Reds, the same number his father, Ken Griffey Sr., wore in Cincinnati.

    Griffey wore No. 24 when he played for Seattle.

    Also today, the Reds announced that group tickets go on sale Monday. Call (513) 765-7600 for more information.

    Group ticket sales do not include Opening Day. Single-game tickets to regular-season Reds games, including Opening Day, will go on sale Feb. 18.

    A friend of mine bought a stiched Griffey jersey toward the end of last year, he might be a little upset.

    I have a Number 30 jersey. Eck.

    I might have to think of changing my name here too.

    Eh, it's kind of cool that he's doing it for his kids but it doesnt change the fact that I now have an authentic '30' Griffey jersey that isn't of a lot of use. I'll still wear it since I dont plan to shell out that kind of cash just to get it minus the 0.

    A look at other athletes who wore or wear No. 3

    * Joe Montana, Notre Dame.

    *Babe Ruth, Yankees

    * Allen Iverson, 76ers

    * Jon Kitna, Bengals
    Am I the only one amused by the list they had in the article? One of these things is not like the other...

    I'll go with the guy who's colorblind when throwing objects through the air.
