Cards have interest in Pena and Kearns

The Cardinals and Reds have had discussions involving outfielders Austin Kearns and Wily Mo Pena.
Cards GM Walt Jocketty might be willing to part with Jason Marquis, but it's unclear how much interest the Reds would have in a pitcher one year away from free agency. I really see no point in renting Marquis for a year. Thompson's a reliever and Wainwright sucks. Reyes or bust.

I agree with Geki here. I don't like this because it is making the Cards better and they are likely to sign Burnett as well. This will not help our chancesin contention. And Marquis is not worth all that for just one season. I'll pass.
