    DanO working in secret?

All we ever hear from the cincy papers is that DanO is giving them the same old same old treatent. "we haven't talked to them... no deals.. nothing immanent." I just don't buy it, he's just very tight lipped.

    From USA today:

"The White Sox, whose deal for Ken Griffey Jr. (for three minor league prospects) was killed by Reds owner Carl Lindner last weekend, would revisit their trade talks if Griffey clears waivers in August."

what's up with that? is it totally bogus? I doubt it, it makes sense, danO just works in the shadows, and the ohio media has no clue what he's doing.

It's kind of sad the local media is that inept that they don't know about a rumor like that (if true.)

I wonder what prospects were being talked about? The White Sox have a few top prospects that interest me a good deal but I don't know how willing they would be to give up a guy like McCarthy if no cash is being sent along.

Because Carl doesn't know any better. He loves his homies, like Griffey and Lark.

Not buying it, but I'm checking on it. This could very well turn into yet another unfounded rumor though.

I'm glad the local papers don't make up things so often like many of the other papers around the country do.

I just don't buy that someone like Hal, who has covered the team for so long, doesn't get more information than all of these other papers claim they do.

i assume that the report was generated on the chicago side. It's not that Hal doesn't get the info, it's that no one in this area does, because they're trying to get it from an extremely tight lipped organization.

If that's true, it just gives everyone more of a reason not to trust anything O'Brien says.

    Reds

USA Today is reporting this too. If true the White Sox would have traded three minor league players for Jr. Two of the players were named. A centerfielder named Chris Young and a first baseman named Casey Rogowski. Both in AA.(is that an omen his first name being Casey). The other player was just said to be a prospect. This story is a big deal on RedsZone, 13 pages no less.

As I predicted, the rumor was totally false. Period. Underlined. Exclamation point.

    NEGATORY BEYOTCH!

Man, Dan O'Brien would be so cool if he just insulted people with his vocabulary.

Yup. Instead he chuckles and then goes into a long tirade using it.
