Is it just me, or does it seem Valentin calls a better game?

It seems of late when Valentin starts, the Reds pitchers are better. Yesterday was a prime example. I've been saying it all along, I very much question some of Jason Laure's calls.

So my point is really to all of this, since Valentin has shown he can hit this season, should he be the everyday catcher next year?

No, I don't think he should. LaRue's career numbers are much better by far, so while Valentin is hot right now, we can't expect extended success.

Also, last year the pitchers were clearly better when LaRue was the Catcher. Valentin was catching Harang yesterday, so there's always a chance he'll be very good. He's thrown some gems with LaRue as the Catcher too.

Valentin has caught Ortiz all year, and I haven't seen much success out of him.

Yep, I have not seen any success from Ortiz. But on a better note, Valentin is swinging a very hot bat, and has been right there with laRue at the plate all season. This is something to credit him for. he is a lot better than any of us thought he would be. I think they should start him again for the next few games.

He's definitely been better, but it will probably end up being a career year based on his past stats. in comparison to LaRue's.

Yup, I guess Felipe is a roider as well. Since players can't have hot streaks or improve in the offseason.

I don't think he's a Roids user, but I do think he's having a career year. His career numbers indicate he probably won't have another year like this one anytime soon.
