Sorry I havent been on as much this weekend guys. I have been kinda busy. I always seem to be really busy when there is good stuff to talk about too. I am going to the game tomorrow and it always seems like Milton pitches whenever I go. Hopefully he can get his act together. Also, I didnt know if you wanted me to continue the minor league report since AD44 is back. I will do it if he doesnt have the time or interest. Thanks.

I'm probably going to one or two of the games in the Braves series this weekend before our meeting on Monday night. Should be a good time.

Didnt think this was worth a whole new thread so I posted here:
    From the Lancaster Blog

BOSTON -- Sean Casey has had a death in the family and will miss the series finale here tomorrow and the first game against the Braves at home Thursday. He is expected to be back Friday.

I guess they arent putting him on the bereavement list like LaRue b/c I thought that was a 3 day minimum.

That's a shame. My prayers are out to the Casey family.

Also, I really want to apologize for my acitivity of late. I am getting on enough to check the forums but I just haven;t had enough time to post. With a pretty big raise in tuition that I have to cover, I have been trying to take on as many hours of work as I can. Real life just has to take precedent over the net obviously.

Im with you mission. I have been working a lot lately too. Thats why somedays I just dont post at all. I try to make sure I do the minor league report and post if I have the time. It happens. But sometimes for me it helps out to get away and just think about baseball.

Yep. But looking at the scores of the past two nights, it can't be much of a help right now. Wow. Although, all things considered, Hudson had a decent night. Still needs to work on that control which has always plagued him but at least he racked up some K's tonight and was stingy with the hits. Boomer looks like he was just on tonight.

I have a bad feeling though that this will be Boston's "turnaround series." I have nothing against Boston but it always seems like we play bad to jumpstart other teams.... year after year.

Thats for sure mission. We jump start a lot of teams, but its never the Reds. Hudson did look pretty good, just had the one bad inning. But it seems like we say that alot too. But I at least feel with Hudson that he gives us a chance to win when he starts. We cant say that for everyone. Only him and Harang right now. If Claussen has a few more QS he can join that list.

My Larry David avatar pretty much sums up how I feel about the Reds. With Dan O going to town with I assume to the max the ownership gave him and little of it paying off.... not a happy time right now. With essentially weak drafts the past two years, no major additions to our farm system, finacial clogs on the MLB team.... oy vey.

BTW, anyone know the situation on Jason Romano? I imagine he is still on waivers. I havent really been keeping up with the Reds other than the big transactions.

Ah that's good to hear. I really think too many are hard on Romano. Some act like he is a washed up 35 year old vet. The kid is still pretty young, I would love for them to play him at AAA in the infield, he could become useful ~ ala a very poor mans Ryan Freel.

Don't sweat it guys. I'll probably be busy over this next week too, as I will be hanging out, going to my cousin's baseball games, playing some baseball, going to Kings Island(later this week) and catching some Reds games live this weekend for the first time at home this year.

I saw about the first 6 innings of the game tonight, but then I took off for UDF with my cousin and watched some movies.

Anyway, I don't know what to think about Romano. He looks good at times and awful at times too. I don't see him turning into a player as good as Jose Guillen(who, BTW, seems to be considered a leader/positive influence by the Nationals players). He could help lead them to the playoffs this year. I'm not surprised at all.
