Well he's still throwing a lot of balls, but that doesn't stop the cubs from sucking.

Leake didn't mess around against the weak Giants' lineup. He even had a couple hits off of Lincecum.

Am I the only one tired of Volquez' act? Just frustrating - and the team is still languishing in its uninspiring pit of inconsistent pitching.

Homer Bailey beginning to remember he is Homer Bailey, it seems.

His ERA continues to rise since the two outings against the Astros and he has been stomach-churning material today.

This pitching staff simply lacks the horses, unfortunately. I would much prefer to see LeCure get a chance to start than Volquez.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

This pitching staff just sucks the life out of the team far too often. Small stretches of solid outings doesn't change what has been the overall trend.

When stubbs comes up to bat, do you think they yell "EASY OUT" in the infield?

Bray can't even get one out in a clutch 8th inning scenario. Brutal. Even though he has been mostly good this year I have little faith in him during clutch situations.

And this ptiching staff lets another slip away after the offense battled against one of the game's better pitchers.

Just a talentless team with a bleak future unless we see a huge payroll hike.

Then of course Bruce hits a HR so we get to witness the pitching staff blow another one shortly, I'm sure.

Took Longoria two swings to end it. Terrible pitching staff. Terrible team. Looks like 4th place again.

Cardinals appear to be playing well tonight and trending upward toward possibly 1st place. Hamilton, Punto, Theriot and some others were quite clutch tonight for the Cards. Contributions all around and Lohse showed again how he has suddenly become a talented pitcher.

Reds likely to lose 2 of 3 in this series. Another bad series.

Ondrusek has been tough almost all year. My question is more about why do we let other teams best players beat us while everyone else walks Votto with any sort of importance?

He's pressing bad, he needs two or three days off in a row. I honestly don't know when they last gave him a day off. I don't want his vertigo to come back, but that's a worry I have with him right now.
