Bailey gives up 1 run already in the first. He is struggling with his command. Votto literally had a hole in his glove. This game looks a little off so far. Hopefully the bats are wide awake.

Don't forget Carlos Silva is on the mound, the reds have a chance.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Silva did his thing, but the Reds big bats are cold.
Good news though. Stubbs hit a salami to take a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth! Cordero having problems closing it out though after giving up a homer to Derek Lee, Rolen mishandles one with a runner on. So 2 on 2 outs for Fotenot. Now Cabrera with an error! WTH?.
Finally, the Reds finish it off with the bases loaded on a grounder back to the pitcher. That was nuts!
Really this game should have been a loss. Bailey was horribly wild tonight, the big bats are struggling in the middle of the lineup, the defense continues to shock me at how poor it is playing, and Cordero was Graves esque. I did like Owings outing though, he had a solid 3 innings only giving up 1 hit. Scary game, but we are at .500 now. Lets go get the series win tomorrow Mike Leake!
MVP: Stubbs
Bum: Rolen again
explains how I felt after tonights game. I had to listen to the radio and it was torture listening to the Cubs waste a good outing from Silva... Who knows how much we're going to see that Carlos Silva.
Tomorrow, finally, I'll be able to watch the game.

With Silva on the mound... our bats shouldn't have faltered like that.
That aside, I thought Bailey showed a lot of poise last night. Obviously the strikezone was not his friend and he had troubles finding his best stuff, but he kept his composure and kept us within distance. And every game Stubbs plays makes me thank God that Taveras is out of town.
