    Syracuse Chiefs vs. Louisville Bats

Browntown, ljshorty, and I went to a Chiefs vs. Bats game. Here's what we brought back:

Jay Bruce, the #2 prospect in baseball. He signed in pen because that's what the kid before me had given him. Kind of pissed me off because it looks terrible, but Bruce was a real nice guy so i let it slide.

    Andy Phillips, former Yankee GREAT

Both guys were really cool, although andy stoned ljshorty for the autograph, absolutely skipped right over him. it was harsh. maybe it was because he was wearing his mets hat....
We tried to get Homer Bailey, but he never made an appearance.

as for the game for itself, it was AWFUL. yesterday's game got rained out, so there was a doubleheader today, meaning it was only a 7-inning game. with that in mind, WE LEFT IN THE 11TH INNING. It was 3-3 after 7, and was the same score when we left. Jay Bruce was 0-5 with 3 K's, and nobody could get a hit. So boring. But it was a fun day overall. There was hardly anyone at the stadium too, maybe 700-1,000 people AT MOST. A nice sunny day though, a rarity for Syracuse. Good times were had by all.

I think it was more like 650 people max. The game wasn't SO bad, but it was boring. Terrible hitting on all sides

o and a nice PS: I beat ljshorty in the "army challenge," where we got called onto the field and had to race doing pushups and situps. It was pure domination by me. LJ needs to get in the gym more often. *flexes biceps*

Ah well done man. Next time, though, make sure you get them to sign on the sweet spot of the baseball, not at the edge.

Yeah, yeah, you beat me. Congrats. It was a decent race tho, I wish I hadn't stumbled getting up from the situps

Bruce is a really cool guy, he has a blog you can talk to him with online too that he uses fairly often. Nice that you got the autograph of the number one prospect in baseball .

Bruce looked downright terrible. I would never have guessed him as a top prospect if I had just watched this game...he was completely off balance and just looked awful at the plate. Mahoney only pitched 3 2/3 innings and also looked pretty bad, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs. He's got some good breaking stuff but just couldn't get out of jams in the 3rd and 4th innings and started throwing the ball all over.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I think he is a little "down" from not making the team and his concentration isn't all the way there yet. He should be fine in a week or two though.

    That's definitely possible.

Nobody else on the Bats particularly stood out to me...Drew Anderson had a solid game with 2 singles, a walk, and a sac bunt, the bullpen did a good job with guys like Adkins, Browe, McBeth too.

Yeah, I would have, but the ball i was using was pretty beat up because i'm poor and didn't want to spend 10 or 15 bucks for a new one. the sweet spot of the ball is kind of beat up, so the auto wouldn't look very good there. next time i will though
