    Re: Bailey starting FRIDAY

Supposedly Bailey is in a very good place mentally, understanding the speed bumps that happen as a rookie pitcher, but despite that makeup I really don't think putting him against an easy team to get some confidence burned off wouldn't of been the worst idea... if anything, I would of personally preferred that.

I agree that this is a good test, but do we really want to be testing him before he has even had a chance to get his feet wet?

I will be at Friday night's game in all likelyhood (as long as tickets remain tomorrow).

Will also probably be at Saturday's game.
The Simpson family gathers around, as Homer places Bart's passed test on the fridge.)

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

minimal.. with his history of not going deep he will need to rely on the bullpen, so that means lots of L's or No decisions.. K's good, but BB's bad.. i really wouldn't bother

It doesn't really bother me if part of this move is PR driven. So what. He and Hamilton are our most marketable commodities. If not for Josh Hamilton and now Homer Bailey, what reason does anyone have to pay attention to this franchise this season? The 2007 Reds have been worse than dreadful. At least, with Bailey called up and Hamilton having secured a full time job with the club, we're getting a chance to see our future and it gives us SOMETHING about which to be excited.

Still, taking on the 2007 Indians in a MLB debut is no small task. I think he's up to it. Mission's projection for his start seems in-line to me. Unfortunately for me, I'm in a wedding this weekend and the rehearsal dinner is at the same time as the game.
I bet one legend that keeps recurring throughout history, in every culture, is the story of Popeye.
