The lack of fundamentals when they were needed was appalling tonight. So many chances went wasted. Imagine if we were able to deliver just a bit more when it was needed, we could be sporting one of the better records in baseball.

On a sidenote, I am in love with Hamilton's plate discipline.

Yup, a few dumb AB's away from a (6-2) record right now. They have been in each of their four losses so far and could have won at least a couple of them if not all of them if they had executed in clutch situations. But of course not...

And agreed about Hamilton. Maybe the player who has been out of baseball for years needs to teach plate discipline to his teammates?

I'm sorry, but when you have given up 3.37 Runs per game as the Reds pitching staff has so far this year, you need to play better than .500 ball. Ridiculous.

Who knows how long our pitching can last like this (1-4 all staying the game) with the bullpen being fairly solid stil. It's sad we haven't capitalized on this success to get some cushion, versus already having to worry about catching up to other teams in the league. Because remember, we have Uncle Milty every five days.
