well we won but looks like it's going to be for nothing thanks to friggen pujols

Albert Pujols homers (48) on a line drive to left center field. Jeff Weaver scores. So Taguchi scores.

    making it 6-1 Cards

Too little, too late from this bunch. A good effort at the end will hopefully pry open R Cast's wallet this offseason. And after his struggles, Harang finally gives a clutch and studly start (complete game, 2 ER and 9 punchouts.)

I am not saying the last start wasn't good. But Harang has failed in the big game situation this season, well often in recent memory. I hate to admit it, but the past four or so games, my hopes did rise as we got to what seemed to be a reasonable number to make a comeback if the stars and planets aligned. Harang came through in a HUGE game, the Cubs game was obviously important in keeping the hope alive, but the stretch after that is what made it important.

Harang failed too often in the clutch. Too little too late.

He simply doesn't appear to be the type of player who performs clutch in the MOST key situations.

Nice to see a good performance from him the last couple times, but he had several less than stellar outings when we needed him most.

And although Jeff Weaver isn't an ace, he very much gave his team a chance to win tonight's massive game.

And we all know about Pujols' clutch performances.

It shouldn't be surprising that the Cards' offense was sparkling in that clutch situation either. Their players have a knack for that, especially guys you don't expect it from such as Molina. Preston Wilson also had a big HR, which of course was another Jocketty pickup at the trade deadline.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

The season is officially over as the Cards won yet again today in the clutch.

Everyone simply needs to tip their caps to that organization.

    It is a great one.

Yep I tip my cap, but not for recent activity. They had just enough I guess. I have always loved the Cards and my congrats goes out to them, but they did give ample opportunity for other teams to pass them. It just didnt happen.

I dont think the Cards will go too far in the playoffs if they continue to play this way. But I will be rooting for them.

Blah, a middle of the pack draft pick. It's a shame we couldn't of tanked the last ten games hard so we could of moved up to at least a pick around 10.
