I agree, the Dodgers destroyed us and walked right through everyone else thereafter. Its not over because I haven't heard Leo's mom sing yet (the fat lady). But time is tick-toc-tickin away...

Another sparkling clutch outing for Carpenter.

    No surprises there.

If Mulder pitched the way the Cardinals expected him too (and stayed healthy obviously), that would of been a killer 1-2 punch there for a playoff series.

Yup, and they would also have a record much closer to the Mets than the record they currently have.

I just wish Harang(another high strikeout guy) could learn to pitch in clutch situations like Carpenter does. Harang is too hittable for some reason though.

There are a lot of teams that are going to need to upgrade seriosly in the off season.... This is one of them... Especially with the pitching staff.. Just like many, many, many other teams need to do!!!! I love the off-season when trading and signing off FA's start... It is almost exciting as the season to me... Cause it helps me gauge where the competition is going to be.

At this point, the chance of tonight's(Tuesday's) game being played are remote due to the weather.

    Just sayin'.

well tonights game i didn't mind the cards winning just to keep the astros from coming back up but since now that we got a game well hopefully if the weather permits it we should and hopefully will get some wins and so will the astros to close in our gap

In all seriousness, I view the Dodgers series as our breaking point. They killed us at crucial times and we were one of the teams they stomped on during their run to the top. 2-4 with the Giants, with a few being close games, I don't think it killed morale quite like the sweeps did (it was bad, just not as bad.)

And my comment wasn't a zing on the Giants.
I didn't think it was a zing just making a little joke. Taking 3 of 4 from the Reds started quite a skid for your team all of when you were 2.5 games out of first at the time.

Giants had a big second and now lead 6-5. The good news is that the Mets put up 4 in the 8th and now lead the Marlins 5-4. I am very concerned about the Marlins since they have the youth and the hot streak as of late. It would be great if the Mets could knock them down a peg for when we have to face them.

    ok Florida lost
    Giants lost
    Philly won
    Cardinals lost

so we didn't lose ground on the division anyways that's a small plus

Yeah, but this Wild Card is almost out of reach now. We really had to get up on the Pads now and the rest of the league.

I am not saying it is over. But it is likely to be really quick. That game was sickening last night.
