One of several teams eyeing Weaver

The Angels appear to have little leverage in trading Jeff Weaver, since they must release him at week's end if they do not trade him by then. But, with starting pitching at a premium, General Manager Bill Stoneman still hopes to generate enough interest to get a significant player in return, even if the Angels have to pay much of the $4 million left on Weaver's contract.

The Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers all are thought to have some interest. The Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks could consider Weaver too.

Yep that is a long list of teams, but at least we see where Krivsky's sites are at. Aim higher Wayne, aim higher!

Maybe, he could do the same thing Arroyo did; come over from the AL and make a huge impact. Highly doubtful, but still wishful thinking if we got him.

I have as much interest in Weaver as I do in getting punched in the head. Although I could get both Weaver and hit in the head as his move to the GAB would likely send his already high homerun total skyhigh.

Arroyo was at least successful in the AL East, a powerhouse offensive division. Weaver blew chunks in the AL West, not known for its great teams (still some good ones). I say no deal!

IIRC, wasn't Weaver more successful in the NL than the AL?

He signed with the Cards tonight.
