I guess so. And I will admit for being a bit rough on the Stubbs pick, I was expecting him to fall in the 7-12 range as it is. He does have talent and was arguably the 2nd best position player outside of Longoria. But it's a lot easier to draft and develop a pitcher to trade for other needs you have than to do the same with a position player and trying to get pitching back.

I just really had my hopes set on a pitcher this year. Let's hope we draft a couple more in the next two rounds because they're are steals to be had yet.

There's two supreme talents left IMO. Dellin Betances and Matt LaPorta have yet to be had.

Ohh I forgot all about Betances. LaPorta was who I was thinking about though ( in addition to a handful of other guys I would be happy with but not on the level of those two.)

M's pick is only a few away, but I expect another HS player, one not named Betances. Blah.

Deggerman and Newton wouldn't be bad picks either.

Mission said the Sox made solid picks...but I know nothing about the draft. I'm looking at the players and it just seems like they took some specialized type players (3-tool player as DK put it). I'm missing something here.

Oh, and the first draft where players younger than me are taken. Woohoo

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

And I was right, M's took another HS pitcher.

    Hope you guys snag Betances.

Valaika? You have to be ****ing kidding me. I am done with this draft. I can live Watson (wouldn't of been my top pick, but there's potential), Stubbs doesn't make a whole lot of sense despite his tools and Valaika is just utter trash.

LOL, Valaika's scouting video is pretty funny. All of his highlights are of him getting out.

Mmmmm... utility player with pop. We got Rich Aurilia (reds version) guys, jump for joy! Why draft a catcher with some ability to hit (since we literally have no depth in the minors at catcher) or a pitcher when we can get something we already have gobs of, utility infielders. You can never have too much of a good thing I guess.

The Nats just drafted an author from Maine. Good stuff

Britton, Buck, Tracy... all three went after Valaika and all three I would of been happy to get. But I suppose their respective teams picked them because the superstud with little talent to develop into in Valaika was gone.

King was a guy who could of gone in the late first or second in my books (in terms of talent). But who needs talent when you got Valaika?

Hey, even if your guy got out in his training video, the most recent Sox pick bunted in his last two clips...not that well...he's a first baseman/catcher...and he's a Red Sox, who don't have the word "bunt" in their baseball dictionary.
