MIAMI - Wily Mo Pena had to leave Saturday's game in the middle of the second inning with tightness in his left quadriceps.
Pena was not injured.
"He said he had stiffness, almost like cramps," trainer Mark Mann said. "He also complained of stiffness in his hip flexor. That led us to believe it might be a hydration issue."
The Reds will re-evaluate Pena today. If he was just dehydrated, he could be back in the lineup quickly.
Pena singled in his only at-bat Saturday, making him 10-for-25 (.400) over his last seven games. He has three home runs, five doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored over those seven games.
