White Sox Robin Ventura Named Manager

    Per MLBTR
The White Sox announced that they have hired Robin Ventura to be their new manager. The sides have agreed to terms on a multiyear deal that makes Ventura, a former All-Star with the White Sox, the franchise's 38th manager. GM Kenny Williams says Ventura topped his managerial wish list despite his inexperience as a Major League manager.

“I wanted someone who met very specific criteria centered around his leadership abilities," Williams said in a statement. "Robin Ventura was that man."

Williams explains that Ventura was the right choice because of his baseball knowledge, professionalism, familiarity with the White Sox and Chicago and character. The 44-year-old re-joined the White Sox this June as a special advisor to director of player development Buddy Bell. Ventura says he's looking forward to the challenge and opportunity of managing in the Major Leagues.
I was really disappointed to see Ventura picked over others who have paid their dues like Alomar Jr. and Martinez. Time will tell if the right choice was made. I am not confident as of now.

LOL. It's almost as if they weren't trying to hire a manager and just wanted to replace Ozzie with another popular White Sox player from the 90's.

Joe McEwing was named third base coach. He managed the Sox AAA team the past four seasons and apparently got good reviews.
