Jinx worked, but still ya gotta give it up to the guy retiring 45 batters in a row before finally having someone say enough.
45 in a row retired by Buehrle for a new MLB record, wow. Respect.
Buehrle was given a standing ovation by the fans at the Dome and wasn't sure they were sincere. His teammates told him the announcers were saying that it was a sincere showing of respect. I would have been among those showing respect for this accomplishment. Buehrle is a very good pitcher who was on a very good roll.
He is one guy I always cheer for when he isn't pitching against the Twins. I want to see the Twins beat him 2-1 each time out, though.
