I think the Sox were better off going in another direction after this season and going after someone a lot better. Ken Williams has done a lot of things right over the past couple of seasons but this wasn't one of them.White Sox agreed to terms with RHP Javier Vazquez on a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension through 2010.
Vazquez's $12.5 million salary for 2007 remains unchanged. He'll make $11.5 million in each of the following three seasons. It's a lot of money for someone whom the White Sox seemed quite frustrated with for much of last season. He ended up going 11-12 with a 4.84 ERA in his first year with the club.
