I think their rotation is fine as it is. They don't need to sell the farm for Peavy.

i dont know about that, i dont like marshall at all, Rich Hill was better and Randy Wells is too young to count on him yet not enough exp. And not having Harden dont help out all.

    Current Rotation
    1. C. Zambrano
    2. T. Lilly
    3. R. Dempster
    4. R. Wells
    5. S. Marshall

    With Peavy
    1. C. Zambrano
    2. J.Peavy
    3. R. Dempster
    4.T. Lilly
5.R.Wells(Harden when he return 3 spot)

    Witch rotation look better?

Harden being out a lot is a problem, but you have to take into account what you're giving up when you post that 2nd rotation. obviously the 2nd one is much, much better (and Peavy becomes the ace in my opinion if he comes, he's better than Zambrano, although I love the man).

I will say, if the Cubs get Peavy, they're my new 2nd favorite team, as they will have my 2 favorite non Yankees in Zambrano and Peavy

I really think Peavy is waiting this whole thing out till he knows for sure which of these teams really needs him and which one has the best chance of getting him a ring. If the Cubs lose ground in that tight 4 team race in the Central division then Peavy may head elsewhere.

He has less control over where he goes than you think. It's not like he can point to a team and say "i want to go there." He has to go with whoever offers for him, and choose from that much smaller pool

Yeah, but he sure had the power to turn down the Whitesox.

I don't blame him either. He does have a short list teams that he would be willing to play for so we shall see which on thinks they need him the most to win a championship and which one he feels he could help win that championship the most.

Turning down the White sox trade was the most important thing he has done all his life lol but yea i agree he wont go a losing team, thats why the cubs need to step up their game if they want to land peavy.

Cubs problem is with selling the team. Until that is finalized, its hard to land Peavy but I have a funny feeling they will still land him. If only they didn't waste their money on Milton Bradley.

They do need to step it up, because first I believe Peavy wants to play in the National League and still pitch against the pitchers as well as he wants to play for a team that could get him a ring this year. If the Cubs remain in 3rd place in the Central they wouldn't even be a part of the playoffs. I have a strange feeling he is going to go to the Dodgers. The only problem with that is they are in the same division as the padres.
