What the hell:Cubs Barrett

I loved that play today. Pierzynski is a smart ass who deserves a smak in his smart ass mug......KUDOS, to the Cubs and Barrett......you are dirt to me tomorrow......

Question: what did Pierzynski do wrong on that play? He ran into Barrett who was blocking the plate to assure that he scored the run. He went to pick up his helmet, was grabbed and suckerpunched by Barrett, the brawl ensued, and Brian Anderson sent John Mabry to the hospital. If you don't like Pierzynski, that's fine, but to say he deserved to get suckerpunched on that play for doing what any good baseball player should do in that situation is just wrong.

If Barrett was on strike3, I'd rep him for just slugging someone. Might as well get a good shot in to earn a suspension.

I support the White Sox. Three years ago, part of that would've been hating A.J. Pierzynski. Now, part of it is enjoying having him on my team. A.J. is that type of player that every opponent hates and everyone wants to have as a teammate. I can see now why you hate him, but you really should blame Josh Paul's stupidity for A.J. getting to first. What's funny is Angel fans hate him as though that won the game, when really Crede's ensuing double was what won it. If Escrybaby doesn't allow Crede the double, the game goes to the 10th.

AJ is a fun guy. I would have liked Barrett's smack on anyone, even Zito. Beats the traditional charge the mound, spear the pitcher, take him down, roll around, grab each other's crotches, and benches clear and nothing fun really happens.

I enjoyed the brawl too, especially Brian Anderson's role in it. He actually sent John Mabry to the hospital.

Fact is......this is a Cubs thread......sure you can have your opinion but don't expect it to be favored. You wanna rep Pierzynski go to the Chi Sux forum......over here we don't favor his kind........he is and always has been dirty and I for one am glad he got clocked........KUDOS Barrett.....I SO loved that......and I am not even a Cubs fan........

After watching the video a few times...Pierzynski leaned into Barrett with his shoulder after bowling him over, that's why he punched him.

FYI, plays at the plate are my personal fave and for a catcher to go to those extremes....right on bro........why, I'd even cheer for a Spankee catcher under those circumstances.......

I know my opinion won't be favored here, but that's not going to stop me from stating it. So you enjoy watching players get suckerpunched because they took advantage of your team's, specifically Paul's and Escrybaby's, mistakes? By that logic, I should root for Garrett Anderson to get drilled in the head with a pitch because he hit Contreras's mistake out of the park in Game 1 of the ALCS.

You need to learn the difference between "dirty" and "smart". "Dirty" is suckerpunching a guy for doing what he supposed to do. "Smart" is running down to first when the ump doesn't call you out.
