    Sox waive Graffanino

The Red Sox have placed second baseman Tony Graffanino on waivers.
Graffanino was scheduled to make $2.05 million if the Sox didn't trade or waive him by Wednesday. The Mets, Cardinals, and Cubs could all have interest in the second baseman.

Can't say I didn't see this coming. Wonder where he'll end up.

That's surprising. Considering some of the risks (Lowell) and crap (Gonzalez/Cora) they have in the infield, Graff had a real role. This drop makes me sad. Graff's a quality player.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

Well, he's on revocable waivers, so he can still play and is still on the 40-man. He's not doing great this spring, but he had a homerun today.

Kind of off topic a bit, but I wont forget the ovation Graf got coming back to Fenway after the error he made in game 2 of the 05 ALDS.

Well, the Red Sox had been shopping him for a while but couldn't find a deal worthy enough to even make a deal.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Reds should sign him and trade Womack to a Mexican team for a donkey.
