ST. PETERSBURG -- Boston right-hander Matt Clement was struck with a line drive by Carl Crawford with one out in the bottom of the third in the Red Sox-Devil Rays game at Tropicana Field on Monday night.
The drive appeared to glance off Clement's head and he was taken from the field by stretcher. He left the field on a stretcher and was taken to nearby Bayfront Medical Center. No details of his condition are available at this time.
Looks like the baby got his medicine...seriously, hopefully he's ok...if he's out for any length of time it may be bad news for tha saux

I'm just hoping for his good health. Just keep him out until he's healthy, call up Alvarez/Papelbon/Gonzalez for the 5th spot temporarily, don't sell the farm for Burnett or a Nixon replacement (he's hurt too I've heard).

I just hope Clement comes out of this okay. I heard it's not as bad as what happened to Bryce Florie and he was never the same after his brutal accident.

Well, this game has been quite the rollercoaster. Clement, Dale Sveum, BS for Baez, Damon, wow.

Physically he will be fine, its his mental approach that will be the true test. Clement will be fine on both accounts.

Well, he's out of the hospital

The results of a second CT scan taken this morning were also negative, and Matt was released from the hospital this afternoon," Red Sox medical director Dr. Thomas Gill said in a statement released before the club played Tampa Bay in the finale of a three-game series.

That is a good news to hear, and a dayoff could not have come in a better time. I wish Clement the best in recovering, and hope that he will both physically and mentally healthy enough to pitch soon.
    LOVE THEE NOTRE DAME!
