Embree DFA / get Hyzdu from Padres

    http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/NAS...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein will have 10 days to either trade or release Embree.
In addition, the Sox dealt Minor League right-hander Scott Cassidy for the Padres for utility outfielder Adam Hyzdu, who spent part of last season with the Red Sox. Hyzdu took Embree's spot on the roster, as the Red Sox went back to 11 pitchers.

Embree would be nice though. Can't possibly be worse than Bernero.

That's funny since the Sox traded Hyzdu for Blaine Neal. Nothing much, simply a backup OF bat.

Embree has just been awful this year and I wonder if he is done. Maybe the Sox can get some peanuts for him.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

BTW, I heard they traded for Tony Graffanino to help with the MI woes. I think they traded two minor leagues (AAAA player/all-star/whatever Chip Ambres and someone Garcia, neither big prospects).

He plays three positions that are currently manned by a guy traded for Ramon Vazquez, a man with no knees, and Kevin Millar.

He's valuable to the team in his versatility.

Super Joe can play 7 positions, what's your point?
