Francona's job on the line?

The Red Sox could wind up having the biggest collapse in baseball history and watching the Dan Patrick Show, he brought up Francona's job being on the line. I was shocked to say the least! While the Red Sox have played like shit to start and finish the season, is the Francona's fault? Who is out there that would be better? If Francona was fired, a lot of teams would line up to sign him. I think it's an overreaction on Dan Patrick's part but even Boston's own Peter Gammons said it was a possibility. I think it would be beyond retarded to fire Francona over the Red Sox not making the playoffs due to injuries once again ('10 was worse). I want to know your thoughts!
