Jon Lester gave up eight earned runs in just 4.1 IP to go 2-3 on the year with a 6.31 ERA. I knew he would struggle this season but didn't expect it to be this bad. He has given up 5 or more runs in four of his seven starts. Red Sox fans need to worry less about Brad Penny and more about Jon Lester. Josh Beckett hasn't been that impressive either.

Totally agree mofo. He has been a little too generous with the longball and his hit and walk totals have been a bit high, but he is still finding his out pitch and neither the hit or walk totals seem so outrageous that he can't bring them back down with some mechanic tweaks.

It is a bit interesting though that two of his four pour starts came against the Rays but two of his quality outings came against the Yankees.
