He's injury prone, as we're finding out this postseason

He gets injured in one post season and suddenly he's prone?

Its an oblique Injury, not an arm injury. Beckett will be fine not to mention they have the means to go out and get more pitching. Beckett, Dice K and Lester is a damn good starting 3. The Rangers have a bunch of catchers they can trade and the backup for the Dbacks did well too. The Red Sox did look at Salty at one point I remeber. Change needs to be made and I think it will.

We're finding that out now? Really? You mean...we didn't know this earlier?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Wasn't his previous DL stint a blister of some sort?

That's hardly indicative of an injury prone pitcher. He just had a blister.

No, he's prone because he hasn't gotten to 30 starts in 5 of his 7 full seasons.

Blisters have plagued him his entire career so I guess you could call that injury prone but I'm not.

When any injury consistently stops you from pitching, it's usually because you're prone to that injury.

    Just sayin'

When I think injury prone I think of someone who has an ailing portion of their body that's never really completely healthy and they're just going to keep getting injured.

Not somebody who runs into a string of bad luck with various injuries or things that aren't medically perpetual like blisters.

What's in the past is in the past. When you're discussing "injury prone" as an excuse the concern is what's going to possibly happen in the future.

If the previous injuries aren't any indication that it'll happen again I don't get quite as concerned.

I think the point is that if a guy is that prone to getting blisters, and he's almost a lock to miss significant time in 5 out of 7 years, maybe he's not injury prone, but there's gotta be a word for it.

...Not that I think his stuff is going anywhere anytime soon...

I was just saying that if they don't wanna call "blisters" injury prone, there has to be a word for it, and whatever word you, me, or anyone chooses....it has a NEGATIVE connotation.

Re: Is Varitek Done In Boston?

it should have a negative connotation. it keeps him out of games. if he's eligible to go on the DL because of it, it qualifies as an injury, and therefore if he gets a lot of them he qualifies as injury prone

and I agree with Saber. Varitek is real bad.
