    Injury Schilling Out For Year

Curt Schilling is out for the season and he says that he may have thrown his last pitch. He is opting to get Tendon surgery and he said on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being pitching in the majors again , he is about at a 3 right now. Curt has been a great pitcher and he will be missed. Hope he can fully heal from this injury that has been nagging him. Good Luck Curt.

good riddance...too bad the Sox were too stupid to buy insurance for the deal he signed. Now they just paid him $8 mil I believe for nothing

Pretty much, but 8 million isn't that bad for a pitcher who has given this organization many of great years in the past.

it was pretty clear that he didn't have much left though...no one else would have signed him for that amount.

The Redsox are loyal to there players. I am not saying it was the smartest of things to do though. I just hope he doesn't have the surgery and then try to give it a go next season at spring training. His time is up and I hope he can go out gracefully.

    Re: Schilling Out For Year

Schilling can make about 2 million throughout the season for just meeting his weigh-in. I guess it's a good thing all those pitching incentives were dropped given the state his arm was in, that was generous of Curt.

Seriously though, he put the Red Sox in a hard spot. If they dropped him, as that was the wise move, the fans wouldn't be happy that they are letting go one of the most popular players and a Boston sports legend for the ages. It just seemed that he wanted to milk some more cash out of a team before calling it quits.

A definite hall of famer though and a guy I actually enjoy quite a bit (both on and off the field.) Hopefully he can land a national commentary job, I know I would enjoy listening to him and he enjoys the spotlight.

Schilling's a twatbag. I hope he gets hit by a bus.

They are? Let's ask Bronson Arroyo how loyal the Red Sox are to their players. This is a guy that loved playing for the Red Sox so much that he gave them a big discount when he resigned with them in 2006. How did they repay that loyalty? Well, the Red Sox traded him to the Reds just two months after resigning him. Now that's loyalty.

yes but did Bronson ever come close to performing up to his potential on the field as Curt had for many years for the Sox. I mean players are going to have to perform to stick around here. I am not saying he was a terrible player while with the Sox, but he never reached his potetial and I still don't think he has.

The Red Sox are fine without Schilling.

Yes I believe they are going to do just fine with the like of Beckett, Dice-K, Lester, Masterson, Buccholz(when he comes back), Wakefield.

I don't think anyone would expect anything less. If I were in your shoes I'd feel the same way.
