Thread: 7/19/06: The greatest Red Sox lineup evah

Nicky J walks and the winning run, super clutch Jeter, is coming up.

Mueller made a pick that looked like it hurt, and inexplicably threw to first to barely get Jeter out instead of just tagging third.

But yeah, as I bet Providence expected, the Sox won if they let the pen pitch. It seems that was the most likely result. I want to hear how often they think the Yankees would win if they went to the pen, or tie, etc.

Some stats that came out of the 100 sims (I missed some of them)

82% of the time, the Red Sox win when Pedro is taken out at that point in the game.

The most common outcome is a 5-3 score (which they showed on TV) with 41% of the outcomes. The second most common was a 5-4 Boston victory, at 14%.

15% of the time, the game would go into extra innings with the Yankees taking 2/3 of those games.

18% of the time (obviously) the Yankees won.

I still want them to sim what actually happened 100 times (leaving Pedro in like Grady did). I doubt the real life outcome happens as much as the Sox still winning that game. And I bet the fans still cred and booed when the Sox lost that 18% of time saying Grady should have left Pedro in.
