    Wright on 15 day DL

Orioles placed RHP Jaret Wright on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 11, with right shoulder soreness.
Congratulations to those that had April 12 in the pool. Jeremy Guthrie is the top candidate to start in place of Wright on Sunday, assuming he isn't needed in relief on Friday or Saturday. If Guthrie won't be available, the Orioles could reach down to the minors for an alternative.

Orioles recalled LHP Brian Burres from Triple-A Norfolk.
Kurt Birkins got the call over Burres last week because the Orioles couldn't disable Ramon Hernandez retroactively and still call up Burres, who was sent down on April 2. Now Burres is back, and he figures to keep his roster spot over Birkins whenever the O's return to carrying 12 pitchers.
Damn, I had April 14th in the pool Seriuosly, the O's better get used to this happening at least twice more this season. Sad thing is the Yankees would love to have him back.

Eh. Six in one, half-dozen in the other. This should be Hayden Penn's shot, but he's got forearm tightness or something.

Word on the street is that Guthrie is starting today and they are pushing Bedard back, but MLB.com is still showing Bedard. Stupid to push Bedard back if you ask me. You want Bedard starting as much as possible.

Thankfully they didn't push Bedard back. He didn't have much command tonight, but he didn't really need it against the Royals.
