    Contract Braves sign Kenshin Kawakami

Braves, Kawakami reach agreement | braves.com: News

The article does not state how many years or how much he is making, but they have reached an agreement! Should be a nice addition for the Braves. In 16 starts last year, he had a 2.30 ERA.

Kobayashi, Kawakami, I see a trend. Old, proven Japanese pitchers. Good for the short term. Useless for the Braves.

Kawakami can be a reliable starter till Tyler Hanson is ready. Then they can shove his ass in the bullpen. Kawakami only pitched around 117 innings last year.

Seems like a lot for a good not great Japanese pitcher, especially since Japanese pitchers usually have their numbers regress coming to the better hitting in America...

Hell yeah its a lot of money now that they have signed Lowe for so much. $8 million a year? Braves are going to regret that one.

Especially when he ends up with an ERA between 4.25 and 4.50. The Braves would have been better off with a Jon Garland, at least with him you KNOW what you're getting.
