Braves at the plate: Martin Prado provided the game-winner with an RBI fielder's choice with nobody out in the 10th inning. Iker Franco and James Jurries provided RBI doubles to highlight a three-run sixth inning. Jeff Francoeur produced his first Grapefruit League homer in the fifth inning.

Pirates at the plate: Brad Eldred drilled a two-run sixth-inning homer off former Pirate Mike Gonzalez, who was making his Braves debut. Brad Bixler began the seventh inning with a game-tying solo homer off Oscar Villarreal.

Braves on the mound: John Smoltz registered three strikeouts and surrendered just one hit in his two scoreless innings. Closer Bob Wickman surrendered two infield singles in his scoreless inning.

Pirates on the mound: Ian Snell surrendered one hit and recorded a strikeout in his two scoreless innings. Matt Capps surrendered three earned runs and three hits in one inning.

Grapefruit League records: Braves 2-0; Pirates 0-2.
