    Homer of The Year

(Each poster can nominate up to 5 for this award.)
You all know the type, their team could experience a tragic plane crash in which all the players are on and they end up in bodycasts for the next 5 months.... but according to one fan, they are still World Series contenders. It might not make sense to you, but to the homer, their team is essentially unbeatable in their eyes.

My 5 nominees (in this order):

    1. nyjunc - should win this award running away, really there's no other challenger...
    2. ATLien - ...except maybe him.
    3. CincyRedsFan30 - It's all about Felipe Lopez's OPS.
    4. Fishercat - but it's not surprising since he's a Red Sox fan.
    5. love_that_reefer - Yep. Sometimes he says things that can only be explained by the fact that's he's a homer.

waruv is too reasonable to win it.

Reds fans are too hopeless to win it.

It's an honor to be nominated but what do I do that makes me a homer?

Vigorously defend every move your team makes without any regard for the effects the move will actually have.

    Just a guess.

No thanks. I'm certainly not in the mood to go into a point-counterpoint-countercounterpoint with you for hours on end while you fail to realize how biased you are in the matters, and how that makes you a homer.

I could probably find 15 examples, if not far more, from the year 2005 of you being an immense homer.

And then you would provide 10 more in the course of the argument where you try to defend it and say you aren't a homer.

I don't care enough to show you what you really are; I don't have the effort to point out your immense bias and vehement man-love for the Yankees. I have no problem letting you continue to believe that you aren't incredibly biased and an enormous homer. Take that as me "not having a case" if you want, because it just means less work for me.

I bashed the team all year and especially after the playoff loss, I don't get it. By nature I am a positive poster but syaing I'm a Homer says that i think everything the Yanks do is right and they never do anything wrong and that's not the case. of course there will be more positive than negative being that the Yanks are the greatest franchise in the history of American sports but blind Homer I am not and i'd love to see these examples. We can move ti away from this thread so we don't keep going off topic, I'll open a new one in the Yankee forum if you'd like.
