    Marlins Marlins looking at DeRosa

According to Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Marlins are considering a trade for Mark DeRosa of the Giants.
Third base has been a revolving door for the Marlins early on in the season after top prospect Matt Dominguez failed to make the team out of spring training. DeRosa, 36, doesn't have a clear role on the Giants and is in the final year of a two-year, $12 million contract. The Marlins would likely have to send a better prospect for the Giants to eat some of his remaining salary, but DeRosa would be an upgrade over what they currently have.
DeRosa really doesn't have a role with the Giants but I love his versatility! If Panda went down, the Giants would be fucked but if we got a good prospect, mainly a SS, I wouldn't complain. If DeRosa is traded, Nate would still have a spot on the roster and Nate actually played third in college. DeRosa would be a good grab for the Marlins because he is a one year fix til Dominguez gets a little wetter behind the ears. His versatility would also come in handy for the Marlins as well. It will be interesting to see what comes of this deal. The Marlins need him, the Giants really don't.

Now DeRosa heads to the DL killing any trade talks. Wonderful!
