oh please with your devils advocate bullshit. of course that wasnt that match that was gonna be made... the point was he was legit enough to be in that match a week ago, and now hes not. and i was the one who said two weeks ago about how losing to cena isnt that deathknell we think it is... but it certainly hurt owens a lot tonight.

and taker saving rollins' title, cool as it may be, is stupid too. i suppose it makes sense, taker wants his revenge... but meh.

im cool with taker walking away, rollins going back in to try to pin lesnar, and brock winning the match anyway... setting up taker vs brock for the belt at ss.

    just saying...

My point is maybe they book him to win if that's going to be the main event but since of course it's not going to be it's a pointless argument to make.

Owens isn't going to be in the WWE title picture anytime in the very near future and anyone who thought otherwise had their heads in the clouds.

They have plenty of time to build him up to be relevant in that discussion and, in the mean time, he took Cena to greater limits than anyone else ever did in these scripts. To say losing in the end somehow kills his relevancy is hating John Cena just for the sake of hating John Cena.

All of that being said, I agree the better decision is for him to have won. I just don't like this extreme cynicism some carry with it like it's some kind of death knell to their careers. And you may have said a week or so ago that it wouldn't be but you're arguing that it's killing his relevancy in here.

The thing is Owens has the talent in and out of the ring to put himself into the mainevent picture faster than Cesaro and Rusev.

And if he has that talent then losing a few times to the program's top dog isn't going to prevent it from happening.

So if the guy who beat Cena CLEAN in the first match can't beat him in either of the next 2 *with almost all the momentum*... Who can beat Cena?

i made that point about cesaro, not owens. owens needed this win. this win solidified owens as the best heel in the company. now hes the floundering around. of course theres room to rebuild him, theres room to rebuild everyone... but itll take time and a gullible audience.

Look how much of an overpush they had to give Wyatt to try and get him relevant for Taker. Look at Nexus. Look at any countless examples of what happens with Cena.

Some guys have the ability to overcome bad booking (CM Punk). Some guys never recover (Barrett). Thats the problem with WWE there really isn't anyone for Cena because he's beat them all.

christ, thats understood... but sometimes cena needs to lose. or at least in the case of tonight, it shouldve been a silly finish, to lead us to summerslam. cenas beat cesaro, cenas beat rusev, now cenas beat owens the last two... whats next for him? nothing, storyline wise, or kayfabe wise, is interesting. lets feed rollins to cena now!
