Thumbs Up 2014 NL Mid-Season MVP

    How YOU doin'?

So, this list, it's interesting, because statistically it is a runaway. Right? But we all know Colorado is now shaping up to compete with San Diego and Arizona for the cellar in the NL West. And Tulo, of course, is very ordinary on the road. So what does that mean?

Our reigning MVP might be having an EVEN better year, only somewhat ignored because Pittsburgh started off poorly. We have a catcher raking and his name isn't Buster Posey. The artist formerly known as Mike Stanton is healthy and ravaging pitching. And finally, Cincinnati has a had a great year..from some guy that isn't Joey Votto.

im gonna be weird, and go with lucroy. miamis quasi hanging around, so thats credit to giancarlo... but meh. colorado is 14 games under .500, i realize team success shouldnt be the main factor in deciding the mvp, but ive always been of the ilk of 'how can you be the most valuable player in the league, if your team is awful'. lucroy might be the best defensive catcher not named molina on the planet, and his hitting numbers are speaking for themselves, though the power isnt there to the level of say tulo or stanton. i considered cutch, i still almost gave it to tulo anyway... best hitter in the national league, not the most valuable though. its definitely a deep field, theres 5-6 guys you can make a legit case for.

I went with McCutchen. They lean on him, he delivers, and he's delivering at an all-time high right now.

Although if Stanton continues to hit over .300, carry that WAR, and hit 45 homeruns, might be hard to beat him in the end even if Miami is sub .500

Went with Lucroy, always nice to see a catcher that performs from both sides of the plate.
