Let's just hand the NL MVP to one of these guys.
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
    Ted
: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
    Barney: Circle gets the square!

The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.

History has shown us that just because you win the triple crown, doesn't mean you you get to win the MVP.

Cabrera was the best hitter. Trout was the best player.

Trout was just as good of a hitter. Vastly better runner and defender.

Other than the superficial triple crown it really should not be a contest.

It's so superficial that it's been 50 years since it was last done.

Re: 2012 A.L. Most Valuable Player

Triple crown aside, MCab is in the top group of just about every offensive stat and it's not like he has been a complete hack at 3B. He has done a formidable job defensively if you compare his numbers to other 3B.

Now I am not one that feels getting to the post season should be automatic trophies, BUT if the hoopla went on with Hamilton sealing it by his team making the play-offs then the same consideration should go to Miggy. Cabrera, THAT year, had better numbers than Hamilton. Hell, he's been putting up MVP numbers for years, he's not a flash in the pan.

It may seem "unfair" to not consider Trout simply because he is a rookie and there is no way of knowing at this moment if he is one of those rookie phenoms with one great year and gradually declines to crap every year after. However, he also didn't have the big expectation pressure put on him like a Miguel Cabrera this year. Don't forget all the squawking in spring training about how he's too fat to go back to third base and that some even thought he would be the odd man out when they got Prince and then when VMart comes back.

    I'm just sayin'.

If I had one, my vote would go to Cabrera.

Did you guys know Cabrera won the triple crown? I just wanted to remind you guys in case you missed the idiots on TBS mention it every single time they talk about Cabrera.

I voted for Cabrera, but it could be argued that he's not even the MVP on his team (Verlander). The Tigers aren't in the ALCS without Verlander.

Then again, I've never been a huge fan of MVPs on non-playoff teams...especially ones that spent a shit ton of money on the best player (Pujols) and a douchebag pitcher (Cock Jerker Wilson, eerrr, CJ Wilson).
