    Attention! 2012 N.L. Cy Young

This might be a tighter race than anyone realizes. Sure, there's the fan favorite that throws a knuckler. But what about the guy who leads the league in wins while having an ERA under 3? Or the one that leads it in ERA and is one strikeout behind for the K lead. Or the two men who have great numbers all-around on division winners? OR Kyle freaking Lohse, who only has 3 losses (cue Boston or NYY overpaying him )

    And go.

I like Dickey, but it will likely go to a post season contender.

You know that first part sounded better in my head than it looks written down.

Glad you pointed that out before I did.

yea, gotta assume kimbrel shouldve been on this list... he probably wouldve been 3rd or 4th on my ballot [dickey, gio, kershaw, then him probably]. his season is absolutely mindblowing though, he should get plenty of votes.

I don't think any closer should rank ahead of anyone in this group.

You maybe right, but I could also make a case for Wade Miley.

I could make the case that you're insane.

Kershaw deserves the CY. Fuck Dickey and Gio. Pitcher's W-L records are for neanderthals.

    Re: 2012 N.L. Cy Young

Leave it to the forum member who started a thread arguing a pitcher's W-L record is the most overrated stat to vote for the candidate whose primary argument for winning the CY is having the most Wins.

And before anyone mentions last year, I did vote for Halladay.

    Re: 2012 N.L. Cy Young

Right. Because a 2.87 ERA and 207 Ks to 76 BBs doesn't factor into the argument.

But you're a much bigger expert on my feelings towards sports than I am, so who am I to argue?

Of which those three more significant stats he is neither in the top 3.
