    What would you rate the 2010 season?

    As a whole, not just your team. How would you rate everything we witnessed in 2010, from the offseason through the regular season to ending with the post season? The Year of the Pitcher, the end of a couple of runs for legendary managers, and milestones acheived, we had a little bit of everything.

    10 = being the best

    1 = being the worst

    Re: What would you rate the 2010 season?

    I gave it a 10!! We had no hitters and perfect games galore and even had one in the post season. We had Triple Crown races deep into the year and a crop of rookies in the NL like no other we have seen. The much anticipated debut of Strasburg did not disappoint and Aroldis Chapman throwing 105 mph heat was quite a sight. Top all that off with a team winning its first championship in over 50 years and it was a great season!!

    Wasn't quite "perfect" for my world, but I agree it was a heck of a season for many of the same reasons. The no-hitters, the AL East going back and forth, the NL West race, the Reds taking everyone by surprise, the Rangers putting that season together while going through bankruptcy and ownership change, the Braves trying to stay alive for Bobby, Halladay, antlers and beards..Oh MY!!

    I'll give it a 9 despite my bitterness about Bochy and the Padres late-season fall-off.

    I also rated it a 9 because there were a few hiccups during the season including the month that Lincecum didn't record a win and had a 7 type ERA. They aslo reached the playoffs from a serious collapse from the Padres down the stretch. Sandoval was not tha Panda he was in 2009 at all as well.

    Re: What would you rate the 2010 season?

    I give this season a generous 1, because it was as if the baseball gods had rained a giant shitstorm on the Dodger franchise.

    The Divorce, the lawyer's "cash cow" remark, Jamie's extramarital affair, Vladimir Shpunt, the Ortiz brothers, Garrett Anderson's uselessness, Vicente Padilla being the opening day starter, Manny Ramirez's dozen trips to the DL, Ethier's broken pinkie, Matt Kemp's regression, Sherrill (and then Dotel) setting up Broxton's failures, Don Mattingly's "two" trips to the mound, getting raped by the Pittsburgh Pirates in a trade, and on top of that, the Giants...the god damned Giants...winning the World Series.

    I gave the season an 8, because my team didn't fare too well in the post-season. Another 1 and done for the Twins.

    Re: What would you rate the 2010 season?

    The regular season was a solid 9/10 for me, with tons of fascinating storylines, highlighted by every Strasburg outing which was as compelling of a story as any in the last 10 years easily. But the postseason was a dud, culminating in a snoozer of a World Series between two uninteresting teams, so I gave that a 4/10. Overall, a grade of 7/10, which is above average.

    Pretty close to my summary. I gave it 6/10. 8/10 Regular season. 4/10 post-season. And they limped into the off-season.

    Look, I understand that you aren't a diehard fan of any team, meaning it's fine for you to hop on the nuts of any player you choose, but get the fuck out of here with this shit about Wilson being awesome. Only a mamby pamby forum like this one would try to convince me that he's likable.

    I had no idea his beard pitched. Who knew. Perhaps the endless McCourt news has driven you mad.

    I agree that "The Beard" has a really unique personality, but I in any way can't say his pitching talents can come close to "The Freak".

    I wouldn't embrace this attention whore even if he happened to be on my team. (Yeah, yeah, I know the rest of you on B/S would.)
